Ultimate Holocaust - Assault On The Control Room

Assault On The Control Room: A Thrash Riot From Italy’s Underground Let’s cut to the chase—Ultimate Holocaust’s Assault On The Control Room isn’t just another thrash album; it’s a relentless punch in the gut that’ll leave you gasping for air (and maybe your sanity). Released back in 2018 via DeathStorm Records, this Italian band brought raw energy and razor-sharp riffs to the table. It's like they took all the chaos of life, cranked it up to eleven, and shoved it into ten tracks of pure headbanging fury. The record kicks off with "Sound Of Death," and holy crap, does it set the tone. Imagine being chased by a horde of angry demons while someone screams at you through a megaphone—that’s basically what listening to this track feels like. The riffing is tight as hell, and the vocals? Guttural but oddly melodic, if that makes any sense. You won’t forget this one anytime soon because it sticks to your brain like gum on a hot sidewalk. It’s got that perfect mix of aggression and groove that makes you wanna smash stuff—but, y’know, responsibly. Then there’s “Apocalypse Tomorrow,” which hits different. If “Sound Of Death” is about survival, this one’s more like staring into the abyss while laughing maniacally. The drumming here is INSANE—blast beats so fast they could power a spaceship. And those lyrics? Dark AF, painting some kind of dystopian hellscape where humanity’s losing its grip. I mean, who hasn’t felt like the world’s falling apart lately? This song feels eerily relevant, even though it came out years ago. Other standouts include “Trapped In Quicksand,” which has this gnarly mid-tempo breakdown that’ll have you nodding along despite yourself, and “Man VS Machine,” a total shred-fest that sounds like an argument between humans and robots over who gets to rule Earth. But honestly? Every track brings something wild to the table. Even “Liliana,” which starts off kinda haunting, flips into this brutal assault that sneaks up on ya when you least expect it. What I love most about Assault On The Control Room is how unapologetically chaotic it is. There’s no filler here—just wall-to-wall intensity packed into every second. Sure, the production might not be super polished, but that’s part of its charm. It’s like Ultimate Holocaust said, “Screw perfection—we’re here to wreck eardrums.” And hey, here’s a random thought: If aliens ever invade Earth and need a soundtrack for their conquest, they should totally use this album. Seriously, can you imagine spaceships descending from the sky blasting “Die Like A Number”? Talk about going out with a bang. So yeah, if you’re into thrash metal that doesn’t hold back—and frankly, why wouldn’t you be?—this is worth checking out. Just don’t blame me if your neighbors start complaining.
