Blank Generation - Out Of My Head

Out of My Head by Blank Generation: A Riotous Punch to the Eardrums If you're into music that feels like a kick in the teeth but also oddly makes you want to hug your mates, Out of My Head by Blank Generation is your jam. Released back in 2008 (yep, that’s ancient history now), this UK-born album is a chaotic cocktail of Alternative, Rock, Pop/Rock with a heavy dash of Punk and Oi for good measure. It's raw, unapologetic, and occasionally sounds like someone dropped their mic during recording—but hey, that’s part of its charm. Let’s dive straight into the tracks because no one wants to read an essay about basslines or whatever. First up, “Why Does It Feel.” This track hits hard right outta the gate, thanks to Ben’s snarling vocals and Kneill shredding his guitar like it owes him money. The lyrics are punchy, relatable even—basically the musical equivalent of yelling at your reflection after a bad day. You’ll remember this one not just because it kicks off the album strong but because it sticks in your brain like gum on a hot sidewalk. It’s catchy as hell, though don’t ask me to explain why—it just is. Then there’s “Alex in Wonderland,” which pops up twice on the tracklist (they clearly loved it—or maybe they forgot?). This tune has all the makings of a punk anthem: fast-paced drums from Don (and later G-Man taking over for track 16, weird flex but okay), shout-along-worthy hooks, and enough energy to power a small village. What makes it memorable? Maybe it’s the way Alex seems stuck in some kind of existential crisis while everyone else is having a party around him. Or maybe it’s just fun to scream along to when life feels equally surreal. Either way, it works. The production creds go to Alistair, who did his best to wrangle these wild sounds into something cohesive. Hats off to Porky too, who mastered this beast, though let’s be real—the grittiness is half the appeal here. And props to Kneill for doubling down as both guitarist and artwork wizard; whoever thought doodles could look so rebellious deserves a medal. Now, if we’re being brutally honest, the album isn’t perfect. Some songs blur together after a few listens, and yeah, repeating tracks might’ve been a lazy move—or genius marketing? Who knows. But what keeps Out of My Head alive is its sheer audacity. It doesn’t try to polish things up or pretend to be something it’s not. It’s messy, loud, and proud—and sometimes, that’s exactly what you need. So here’s the kicker: listening to this album feels like catching up with an old friend who still wears ripped jeans and talks smack about authority figures. Sure, they’ve aged a bit since 2008, but their spirit hasn’t faded. If you’re looking for music that punches harder than your morning coffee and leaves you feeling alive, give Blank Generation a spin. Just maybe skip the repeats unless nostalgia trips are your thing. Final verdict? Worth every penny…or at least every illegally downloaded byte.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a cool fact: The album *Out Of My Head* by Blank Generation has a tracklist that repeats some song titles, but they’re not exactly the same. For example, "Alex In Wonderland" and "Blank Expression" appear twice, but each version might have subtle differences in style or production. It’s like they’re giving you two perspectives on the same idea. Plus, with genres spanning Alternative, Rock, and Punk, it’s a wild mix of raw energy and catchy hooks. The band even had different drummers for most of the tracks and one special guest drummer, G-Man, for track 16. Fun, right?
