OMG, We Survived A Horror Movie: A Bloody Good Ride Through Metal Mayhem Alright, buckle up because Damien’s OMG, We Survived A Horror Movie is one wild ride that’ll leave your ears ringing and your heart pounding. Released in 2010 under Fear The Crowd Records (shoutout to Germany for this gem), this album feels like someone took all your favorite horror flicks, cranked them up to eleven, and mashed ‘em together with some serious New Wave, Nu Metal, and Death Metal vibes. It’s chaotic, it’s loud, and honestly? I kinda love it. First off, let’s talk about "Prom Night." Oh man, this track hits hard right outta the gate. The opening riff grabs you by the throat like Jason Voorhees chasing down his next victim. There’s something so raw and visceral about how Damien blends heavy-as-hell guitars with these eerie synths—it’s like you’re stuck at prom but the dance floor is covered in blood. You can practically smell the cheap cologne and fear. This song sticks with me because it’s not just noise; there’s a story here. Every beat screams teenage terror, every growl feels like impending doom. By the time it ends, you’re left breathless, wondering if you made it out alive. Then there’s “The Rules To Survive (Intro).” Now, I know intros are usually forgettable filler tracks, but nah—not this one. This thing sets the tone perfectly, like an overture for a massacre. It starts slow, almost cinematic, like those creepy scenes where the camera pans through an empty house while ominous music builds in the background. Then BAM! The drums kick in, and suddenly you’re running for your life. It’s short, yeah, but damn does it work. It pulls you into the rest of the album like Freddy dragging you into his boiler room nightmare. Props to Damien for making an intro actually matter. What makes this whole album stand out isn’t just its killer sound—it’s the way it pays homage to horror culture without being cheesy. Tracks like “Wes Craven” and “Halloween” feel like love letters to the genre, but they never cross into corny territory. Instead, they rip and roar with authenticity, like Damien knows exactly what makes horror fans tick. And hey, who doesn’t wanna headbang to songs named after cult classics? But here’s the kicker—listening to this album feels less like enjoying music and more like surviving an actual horror movie. It’s exhausting, exhilarating, and sometimes even uncomfortable. But isn’t that the point? Horror movies aren’t supposed to be cozy bedtime stories, and neither is this album. If anything, it’s proof that rock and metal can still scare the crap out of us when done right. So, would I recommend OMG, We Survived A Horror Movie? Hell yes—if you’ve got a taste for chaos and a soft spot for slasher flicks. Just don’t say I didn’t warn ya when you find yourself sleeping with the lights on afterward. Oh, and fun fact: turns out Damien has a wicked sense of humor. Who else names a track “Rape And Revenge” and somehow makes it work? Rock on, dude.
