The Fast For Sale: A Raw, Unfiltered Blast from 1980 That Still Kicks Ass Alright, let’s cut the crap. "The Fast For Sale" by The Fast isn’t just another rock album—it’s a chaotic love letter to punk, new wave, and everything in between. Released in 1980 on Recca Records (yeah, I had to look it up too), this US-born gem is an absolute rollercoaster of glam-infused indie rock with enough attitude to make your mom clutch her pearls. And trust me, you don’t wanna miss it. First off, props to Paul Zone for his snarling lead vocals—he sounds like he gargled broken glass before stepping into the booth. Miki Zone shreds on guitar like his life depends on it, while Louis Bova holds down bass duties AND pulls double duty on backing vocals. Joe Poliseno smashes those drums like they insulted his mom, and holy hell, do these guys know how to bring the noise. But what really makes this album stand out are its wild production choices—Ric Ocasek? Richard Gottehrer? Bobby Orlando?! This thing was produced by legends who clearly didn’t give a damn about playing it safe. Now, let’s talk tracks. You can’t ignore “T-Shirt & Tight Jeans.” Holy shit, this song hits like a brick wall covered in glitter. It’s fast, sleazy, and dripping with punk swagger. Miki Zone’s riffs hit harder than most bands’ entire discographies, and when Paul Zone screams “tight jeans!” you better believe it sticks in your head for days. It’s the kind of anthem that makes you wanna grab a leather jacket, spike your hair, and piss off anyone within earshot. Pure adrenaline. Then there’s “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’,” their cover of Lee Hazelwood’s classic. Now, normally covers suck because they’re either too faithful or try too hard to reinvent the wheel. Not here. The Fast turn this tune into a sneering, stomping punk banger. Paul Zone spits out the lyrics like he’s daring someone to step to him, and the band backs him up with enough raw energy to blow the roof off. It’s not just a cover—it’s a declaration of war against boring music. But honestly, the whole damn album is worth your time. Tracks like “Cars Crash” and “Love Me Like A Locomotive” keep the momentum going, blending catchy hooks with razor-sharp edges. Even the slower moments, like “It’s Like Love,” have a weird charm that keeps you hooked. Plus, shoutout to Bob Coogan for the killer cover art—it’s as eye-catching as the music itself. So yeah, "The Fast For Sale" might be over 40 years old, but it still punches harder than half the crap coming out today. Maybe it’s the sheer audacity of it all, or maybe it’s just that perfect mix of punk grit and glam sparkle. Either way, listening to this feels like finding a hidden treasure chest full of dynamite—and lighting the fuse. Final thought? If The Fast were around now, they’d probably get canceled for being too loud, too brash, and too unapologetically themselves. Good thing we’ve got this record to remind us why that’s exactly what music needs more of. Turn it up, freaks—you won’t regret it.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s something cool: The Fast's album *The Fast For Sale* is like a time capsule of 1980s rock. It blends punk, new wave, and glam into one wild ride. What makes it even more unique? The tracks were produced by a mix of big names, including Ric Ocasek of The Cars and Bobby Orlando, who gave the album its raw, edgy vibe. Plus, Miki Zone didn’t just shred on guitar—he also co-wrote most of the songs. And how about this? They covered Lee Hazelwood’s *These Boots Are Made For Walkin’*, but gave it their own chaotic twist. Not your typical rock record, for sure.
