Great Good Fine OK - Easy

Review by Gesley Rodrigues

Easy by Great Good Fine OK: A Pop Gem That Sticks Like Glitter Let’s get one thing straight—Great Good Fine OK isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel with Easy. Released in 2018 under Ultra Records, this album feels like that buddy who shows up at a party just to remind everyone how fun it is to let loose. It’s packed with bouncy beats, shimmering synths, and hooks sharp enough to snag your brain for days. The genres? Oh, you know, just a casual mashup of pop/rock, dance, and pure ear candy vibes. Now, I gotta shout out two tracks because they’re stuck in my head harder than gum on a summer sidewalk. First up, obviously, “Easy.” Man, this song is slick. It’s got this effortless groove that makes you wanna roll down your car windows and pretend you're starring in your own music video. The chorus hits like a sugar rush—you can almost feel the neon lights flashing as you sing along. Honestly, if this track doesn’t make you tap your feet or bob your head, check your pulse. You might be a mannequin. Then there’s another standout (sorry, unnamed track—I’m keeping it real here)—that sneaks up on you like an old friend. Its beat builds slowly, layering sounds until BAM, you’re fully immersed. It’s not overly complicated; it just knows what works. There’s something about the way the vocals glide over the melody—it’s smooth but still packs enough edge to keep things interesting. These guys have mastered the art of making catchy tunes without drowning in cheese, which is no small feat. What sticks with me most about Easy is its vibe. It’s not trying too hard, but it’s also not phoning it in. It’s like hanging out with someone who’s effortlessly cool—they don’t need to brag because their energy speaks for itself. And yeah, maybe some parts lean into predictable territory, but sometimes predictable is exactly what you want when you’re vibing on a Friday night. Here’s the kicker though: listening to Easy feels like rediscovering an old favorite hoodie you forgot you owned. Comfortable, familiar, yet somehow fresh all over again. Who knew synth-soaked pop could feel so… cozy? Oh, and random thought—this album would probably pair well with tacos. Just saying.
