Vicio Sin Desperdicio: A Wild Ride Through 90s Makina Vibes Man, if you’re into electronic music that hits like a sugar rush on steroids, Vicio Sin Desperdicio by Javier Rapallo is one of those albums that’ll slap you awake and leave you buzzing for days. Released back in ‘95 under Bol Beat, this Spanish gem dives deep into the makina scene—a genre that’s all about high-energy beats, euphoric synths, and just enough chaos to keep things unpredictable. Let me tell ya, this isn’t some polished-over Spotify playlist filler; it’s raw, unapologetic, and straight-up infectious. The album has three tracks—simple but mighty—and two of them have stuck with me like gum on a hot sidewalk. First up, there’s "Bases Tracks (Vicio Instrumental)." Oh wow, where do I even start? This thing feels like stepping into a rave at 3 AM when everyone’s lost their minds but somehow still perfectly in sync. It’s got this relentless kick drum that pounds away like it’s daring you not to move your feet. And then—the synths! They’re sharp, shiny, and kinda remind me of lasers slicing through fog. You can tell Daniel Osorio (the producer) knew exactly what buttons to mash to make this track explode. Every time it comes on, I swear my heart skips a beat before jumping into overdrive. It’s pure adrenaline wrapped in soundwaves. Then there’s "Kikos Mix." Now, THIS one sneaks up on you. At first, it’s all playful bleeps and bloops, almost teasing you like, “Hey, wanna dance?” But about thirty seconds in, BAM—it flips into this wild beast of layered rhythms and stuttering melodies. It’s messy in the best way possible, like someone threw paint everywhere and somehow made art out of it. Honestly, I think A. Tello and J. Rapallo must’ve been channeling some kind of cosmic energy when they wrote this because it’s got soul. Like, real soul. Not the fake stuff you hear on commercial radio these days. Listening to it feels like being part of something bigger than yourself, like you’re plugged directly into the pulse of a generation. Now, let’s talk mastering for a sec. Y.D. did an insane job here. The clarity is nuts considering how chaotic makina can get. Every element pops without drowning out the others, which is no small feat. Kudos to the team behind this project—they clearly cared about making something that’d stand the test of time. Reflecting on Vicio Sin Desperdicio, I’m struck by how… well, human it feels. Sure, it’s electronic music, but it doesn’t feel cold or robotic. There’s emotion bleeding through every beat, every note. Weirdly enough, listening to it now in 2023 makes me nostalgic for a time I wasn’t even alive for. Maybe that’s the magic of makina—it transcends eras and connects people across decades. Oh, and here’s a kicker: rumor has it that Javier Rapallo didn’t expect this album to blow up the way it did. Can you imagine? Some dude in Spain just doing his thing, probably fueled by late-night coffee and sweaty club vibes, ends up creating a piece of history. Life’s funny like that, huh?
