Access by RVDB: A Trance Bomb from 2007 That Still Slaps Alright, let’s cut the crap. If you’re into electronic music, especially that high-octane trance and techno blend, Access by RVDB is one of those albums you can’t just ignore. Released back in 2007 under Reset Records, this Dutch banger hits hard—and I mean hard. Produced by Ron van den Beuken (a legend in his own right) with writing creds shared with A.L. Veldman, it’s got that raw, unfiltered energy only the Netherlands seems to pull off so damn well. Now, there are two tracks here that’ll stick to your brain like gum on a hot day: “Access (Original Mix)” and “Access (Randy Katana Mix).” Let’s break ‘em down real quick. First up, the Original Mix. This track doesn’t mess around—it grabs you by the collar and drags you straight into euphoria. The build-up? Insane. It’s not overdone or cheesy; it’s calculated chaos, layering synths until they explode into this massive drop that makes your chest rattle. You feel alive when this thing kicks in. Like, holy hell, how did they even think of this? Every beat punches harder than the last, and before you know it, you're losing yourself completely. No wonder people still talk about this mix years later—it’s timeless as f. Then we’ve got the Randy Katana Mix, which flips the script entirely. Where the Original Mix is all sharp edges and relentless energy, this remix brings something darker, grittier. It’s like stepping out of a neon-lit club into some underground rave hidden in an alleyway. Randy Katana adds these eerie undertones while keeping the core melody intact, but he twists it just enough to make it feel dangerous. By the time the bassline drops, you’re not dancing anymore—you’re fighting for survival. Yeah, it’s THAT intense. What sticks with me most isn’t just the technical brilliance—it’s how both versions of “Access” take you on totally different trips. One moment you’re floating in space, the next you’re knee-deep in shadows. That kind of versatility? Rare as hell. So yeah, Access might be almost two decades old now, but don’t let its age fool ya. This album slaps harder than half the stuff dropping today. And honestly? Listening to it feels like finding an old photo of yourself—nostalgic yet kinda shocking at the same time. Who knew music could hit so close to home after all these years? Final thought: If aliens ever invade Earth, play them this album. They’ll either leave us alone or start headbanging. Either way, win-win.
