INFECTIOUS HAZARD: A Raw Rock Assault from Japan’s Underground Alright, buckle up. This ain’t your polished, radio-friendly rock crap—this is Infectious Hazard by United, a 2001 Japanese banger that hits like a steel-toed boot to the face. Released under Howling Bull Records (yeah, they got two names for some reason), this album doesn’t mess around. It’s raw, unfiltered, and dripping with attitude. If you’re into mosh pits, riffs that rip your skull open, and vocals that sound like they were recorded in a warzone, then congrats, you just found your new favorite record. Let’s get one thing straight: there are a lot of tracks here. Some of ‘em repeat titles because apparently someone at Howling Bull couldn’t decide on capitalization or track order. Whatever. Screw it. The chaos works somehow—it feels like flipping through channels on an old TV but every station is playing something heavy as hell. But I’m not gonna sit here and break down all twenty-something songs; I’ll hit you with the standouts instead. First off, “MOSH CREW.” Yeah, it’s spelled three ways on the damn tracklist, but who cares when it slams this hard? This song grabs you by the throat from second one and doesn’t let go. The guitar work is nasty—like, rusty-nails-across-metal nasty—and the breakdowns? Oh man, they’re made for throwing bodies into walls. You can almost smell the sweat-soaked floorboards of some tiny Tokyo dive bar while this plays. It’s relentless, pissed-off, and perfect for losing your mind to. Every time I hear it, I wanna punch something—or someone. Not sorry. Then there’s “Cross Over The Line,” which might be my personal pick for best cut on the album. Why? Because it’s got this groove that sneaks up on you before exploding into pure chaos. The drums smash harder than a sledgehammer, and those riffs? They stick to your brain like tar. There’s this kinda eerie vibe running underneath too, like you’re walking a tightrope between sanity and madness. By the end, you’re not sure if you crossed over or got pushed, but either way, it rules. Now, listen—I could toss out mentions of other tracks like “Sonic Sublime” or “Distorted Vision,” both of which shred in their own right. And yeah, “Blackened Lies” brings the noise too, though honestly, I stopped caring about capitalization halfway through writing this review. Screw consistency—it’s punk rock, baby! Here’s the kicker: Infectious Hazard isn’t perfect. Hell no. It’s messy, repetitive, and probably would’ve benefited from better production quality. But you know what? That’s exactly why I love it. It’s real. No plastic polish, no trying to appeal to the masses. Just straight-up fury bottled up in a 75-minute assault on your ears. And hey, fun fact: how wild is it that a bunch of dudes from Japan dropped this beast back in 2001 and barely anyone outside their scene noticed? Feels like finding a hidden treasure chest full of grenades. So next time you’re scrolling Spotify looking for something brutal, give this bad boy a spin. Just don’t blame me when your neighbors start complaining about the noise. Final thought? If Infectious Hazard was a person, it’d probably get kicked outta most places—but we’d secretly root for it anyway. Cheers to that.

Interesting fact about Album

Here's an interesting fact: The album *INFECTIOUS HAZARD* by United is a hidden gem in the Japanese rock scene. Released in 2001, it blends raw energy with intense tracks like "MOSH CREW" and "Sonic Sublime." What’s wild is that some song titles are repeated but slightly altered, like "Blackened Lies" and "BLACKEND LIES," almost as if the band wanted listeners to catch subtle differences. It’s like they were playing with consistency—or maybe just messing with us! Howling Bull Records definitely took a chance on this one, and fans of hard-hitting rock still find something new to love every time they listen.
