Album Review: Make Em Pay Homemade Napalm Gasolin Or Fuel Oil Nondetergent Soap Bar Flakes Or Powder Make Gasolin Oil Or A 11 Mixture Bubble And Add The Soap 11 Alright, buckle up. This one’s wild. Vehikel & Gefäss (& Ventilator) dropped this chaotic gem back in 1990 on the Swiss label Schimpfluch, and let me tell you—it's not your grandma's electronic record. Nope. It’s an unhinged ride through experimental noise that feels like someone handed a synth to a mad scientist who just discovered static electricity. The album title alone is practically a DIY anarchist pamphlet. You know those albums where you're like, "What even IS this?" Yeah, that’s this. The two tracks I can’t shake are Live-Akcion 90-03-21 and Live-Akcion 90-03-23. First off, the titles scream “we don’t care what you think.” Love it. On Live-Akcion 90-03-21, it starts with these glitchy, distorted loops that feel like your brain's trying to tune into a radio station from another dimension. Then BAM—this grinding wall of sound hits you outta nowhere. Imagine if a blender full of nails got jealous of a jet engine. That’s the vibe. There’s no melody here, just raw energy clawing at your ears. And somehow, it works? Like, you’re not sure whether to dance or run screaming, but either way, you’re hooked. Then there’s Live-Akcion 90-03-23, which takes things even further into the abyss. This track feels more... deliberate? Like they remembered how to use a pause button. There are moments where the chaos pulls back just enough for some eerie, almost melodic tones to creep in. But don’t get comfy—it’s still packed with bursts of feedback and sounds that could be anything from industrial machinery to alien distress signals. Halfway through, there’s this weird rhythmic pulse that emerges, like a heartbeat buried under layers of digital rubble. It’s unsettling but oddly hypnotic, like watching a storm roll in while eating burnt popcorn. Props to Joke and Rudolv (and whoever Inzekt is for the gnarly cover art). They didn’t just make music—they made something alive, twitching, spitting, and refusing to sit still. It’s messy, sure, but isn’t that kinda beautiful? Here’s the kicker though: listening to this album feels less like entertainment and more like therapy for people who hate therapy. If you’re into stuff that challenges your brain and makes your speakers beg for mercy, this might be your jam. Or maybe it’ll make you wanna throw your stereo out the window. Either way, you won’t forget it anytime soon. Final thought: I bet whoever invented bubble wrap would’ve loved this album. Or hated it. Probably both.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a fun fact: In 1990, the Swiss experimental electronic duo Vehikel & Gefäss (alongside Ventilator) released an album with one of the longest and most unusual titles ever. The title is basically a recipe for homemade napalm, written out in full as *Make Em Pay Homemade Napalm Gasolin Or Fuel Oil Nondetergent Soap Bar Flakes Or Powder Make Gasolin Oil Or A 11 Mixture Bubble And Add The Soap 11*. Yeah, it’s wild. Released under the Schimpfluch label, the album dives deep into noise and experimental sounds. It even credits someone named Inzekt for the cover art and features live recordings from March 1990. Definitely not your typical music release!
