Oski - The Best EP

The Best EP by Oski: A Genre-Bending Joyride That Actually Lives Up to Its Name Alright, real talk: when I first saw the title The Best EP by Oski, I rolled my eyes so hard it hurt. Like, c’mon dude, subtlety is cool too! But then I hit play—and holy smokes, this thing slapped harder than a mosquito on steroids. Released in 2016 under Disciple (shoutout to the label for taking risks), Oski brings together Hip Hop, Trap, Dubstep, and some straight-up electronic chaos into one wild ride. It’s messy, unpredictable, and honestly? Kinda genius. Let’s zoom in on two tracks that stuck with me like gum on a hot sidewalk: “Senses (feat. King Space)” and “Horns.” First up, “Senses.” This track hits you like a caffeine buzz at 3 AM—sharp, electric, and kinda disorienting but in the best way possible. The beat has this twitchy energy, like your headphones are having a panic attack, while King Space lays down bars smoother than butter on toast. What makes this one unforgettable? Probably how it flips between chill vibes and full-on sensory overload without warning. One second you’re vibin’, the next you’re wondering if aliens just hacked your Spotify playlist. Wild. Then there’s “Horns,” which comes in two flavors because why not? The OG version slaps with grimy basslines and horns that sound like they were stolen from an old-school cartoon villain intro. Command Q jumps in with verses sharp enough to cut glass, adding layers of swagger and sass. Meanwhile, the remix takes everything great about the original and cranks it up to eleven—think more distortion, heavier drops, and beats designed to rattle your soul. Honestly, if these horns don’t make you wanna throw hands or breakdance in your kitchen, check your pulse. What’s dope about The Best EP is how Oski refuses to stay in one lane. He’s out here mixing genres like he’s cooking up a musical smoothie, tossing in Trap, Dubstep, and Hip Hop like they’re fruit chunks. Sure, sometimes it feels like sensory whiplash, but isn’t that what good art’s supposed to do? Keep you guessing? At the end of the day, The Best EP might actually deserve its name—not because it’s perfect, but because it’s bold as heck. Listening to it felt like being invited to a party where everyone brought something weird yet delicious. You walk away thinking, “Wait…was that even food?” And somehow, you still loved it. So yeah, props to Oski for making something that’s equal parts banger and brain scrambler. If you haven’t listened yet, fix that pronto. Just don’t blame me when your neighbors start banging on the walls during “Horns.” Oh, and random thought: does anyone else think Oski looks like a raccoon when he squints? No? Just me? Cool, moving on.

Notes

Artwork note: When the released was first announced, the artwork was slightly different from what would later become the final version (as seen in the "More images" section.) The border was completely different, and the text was written in Helvetica rather than Majoris (Disciple's current font used for branding).

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a cool fact: Oski’s *The Best EP*, released in 2016, blends Hip Hop, Trap, and Dubstep in a way that feels like a musical rollercoaster. One of the standout tracks, "Horns," even appears twice—once as a solo version and again with Command Q adding their magic. It’s like getting two flavors of the same vibe. The album came out under Disciple, a label known for pushing boundaries in electronic music. So, it’s no surprise this EP feels experimental yet sharp. If you’re into genre-bending sounds, this one’s a hidden gem.
