Kriticado by Pkdores: A Raw Oi Punk Punch to the Gut (2006) Alright, let’s talk about Kriticado. This 2006 slab of raw energy from Pkdores is a no-frills rock album that doesn’t try too hard to impress—but ends up doing exactly that. Hailing from the US and released under Intoxicado Records, this record dives headfirst into the gritty worlds of Oi and Punk. With Fernando on vocals and guitar, Nuco thumping the bass, Sucio smashing drums, and Ricardo adding some unexpected sax swagger, it's a tight-knit crew bringing chaos with purpose. The opening track, “Pkdores,” hits like a boot to the chest. It’s fast, loud, and unapologetic—a perfect intro if you’re in the mood for something that feels like an adrenaline shot straight to your ears. The riffs are sharp enough to cut glass, but what really sticks is how Fernando’s voice carries this mix of pissed-off urgency and street-smart grit. You can almost picture him shouting these lyrics at some dimly lit dive bar where everyone’s got a story they’d rather forget. By the time the song wraps up, you’re either nodding along or ready to punch a wall—either way, mission accomplished. Then there’s “Calles Y Sueños.” Man, this one gets me every time. There’s a vibe here that feels more reflective than the rest of the album, like a moment of clarity amidst all the chaos. The saxophone work by Ricardo adds this haunting layer that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. It’s not flashy, just… right. Like someone whispering secrets over a fire while the world burns around them. And the chorus? Damn near unforgettable. If you don’t catch yourself humming it hours later, check your pulse—you might be dead. Tracks like “A Reventar” keep things rowdy, and the title track “Kriticado” delivers exactly what its name promises: a middle finger to critics everywhere, wrapped in blistering guitars and spitfire vocals. But honestly, it’s those first two songs that stick in my brain like gum on a hot sidewalk. They’re not perfect, sure, but maybe that’s why I love ‘em so much. Here’s the thing about Kriticado: it’s not gonna win any Grammys, nor does it seem like it gives a damn about trying. What it does do is remind you why punk and Oi still matter. It’s music for misfits, for people who find beauty in imperfection. Listening to this feels less like entertainment and more like eavesdropping on a conversation between friends who’ve been through hell together—and wouldn’t trade it for anything. So yeah, crank this album loud, preferably somewhere outside where the neighbors can complain. Oh, and fun fact—if you listen closely during “Calles Y Sueños,” you might hear Ricardo’s sax squeak ever so slightly. Don’t tell anyone I told you, but I kinda think that little mistake makes the whole damn thing even better.

About Pkdores

Chicago-based Latino Oi!/punk band formed in 2002. Members of Youth Against and Sin Orden. < Biography > Pkdores was formed in the streets of Pilsen 18th st. (Chicago neighborhood). The neighborhood was alive and kicking Spanish hardcore. Los Crudos (early 90's), Youth Against (mid 90's) and Arma Contra Arma had paved the way for the second generation of Spanish Hardcore (late 90's) like Sin Orden, Tras de Nada, I Attak. Pkdores (early 00's) saw a chance to change the traditional Hardcore for the traditional 77 punk style. Heavily influenced by the neighborhoods politics, culture and the working class ethics, the raw, loud, and at times melodic sound was born in the winter of 2003. Since then Fernando and Nuco have remained the original members (former Youth Against members) trying to keep the band alive. 2006 saw the release of their first 7" on red vinyl. Getting a great response and reviews. 2009 they are currently working on a full length CD.
