The Sun Epilogue: A Drum n Bass Odyssey That’ll Mess With Your Head (In a Good Way) Alright, buckle up. We’re diving into The Sun Epilogue, the 2002 brainchild of Black Sun Empire, Concord Dawn, and Rawthang, with Kari Rueslåtten lending her ethereal vocals. Released under their own label in the Netherlands, this EP is two tracks of pure electronic wizardry that still slap harder than most things made today. It’s Drum n Bass gold, folks—no fluff, no filler, just raw energy and razor-sharp production. Let’s talk about “The Sun” first because, honestly, how could you not? This track kicks off like someone hit the cosmic reset button. The intro builds slowly, teasing you with atmospheric pads before BAM—it drops into a breakbeat so tight it feels like your headphones are hugging your brain too hard. And then there’s Kari Rueslåtten’s voice floating over everything, angelic but kinda haunting, like she’s whispering secrets from another dimension. Anyway, as I sit here reflecting on this EP, I can’t help but think… what if these guys had stuck more lyrics in there? Would Kari Rueslåtten have started dropping bars? Imagine her spitting rhymes over those insane beats. Now THAT would’ve been wild.
