Chariots Of Fire by McMorris: A 90s Italodance Gem That Still Bangs Alright, let’s talk about Chariots Of Fire by McMorris. Released back in ‘96 under DUE Records (you know, Dance Universal Experiment), this album is straight-up Euro House and Italodance gold from Italy. If you’re into that late-night vibe where the beats are smooth but still make your feet move like crazy, this one's for ya. First off, big ups to Maurizio Raffaelli—he produced the whole thing and co-arranged it with G. Vivaldi and R. Salani. Shoutout to C. Mingardi on engineering duties too because man, these tracks sound crisp even today. And can we just appreciate Creo Comunicazioni for making the cover look so damn cool? It’s got that retro-futuristic thing going on that screams mid-90s dancefloor magic. Now, onto the tracks. The standout here has gotta be Chariots Of Fire (D.U.E. Radio Version). I mean, come on—it’s hard not to remember this one. It starts with those iconic synth chords that feel like they’re lifting you right off the ground, kinda like running slow-mo through waves or something equally cinematic. You don’t need me to tell you how catchy it is; once it gets stuck in your head, good luck getting it out. What makes it stick? Probably the blend of uplifting melodies and a beat that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. Like, yeah, it’s 1996 calling, but it’s got modern vibes too. Then there’s Give Me Your Love (Ossessive Love Mix)—and no, "ossessive" isn’t a typo; it’s part of the charm. This track takes things up a notch with its hypnotic rhythm and sultry vocals. There’s something addictive about the way the bassline pulses underneath while the synths swirl around like you’re floating in space. Honestly, if this doesn’t get people moving at a party, then maybe they’re already dancing somewhere else. The third track, Chariots Of Fire (D.U.E. Mix Version), is solid too, though it leans more into extended club territory. Perfect for DJs who wanna stretch the moment out a bit longer. So, why does Chariots Of Fire still matter over two decades later? Maybe it’s because it reminds us of an era when electronic music felt experimental yet accessible. Or maybe it’s just really freaking good. Either way, listening to it now feels like finding an old mixtape in your car cassette deck and realizing it’s still fire. Oh, random thought—I wonder if anyone ever tried playing this during actual chariot races. Just imagine gladiators rolling up to some Italodance beats before battle. Now THAT would’ve been epic.
