Album Review: Think About Me by Pat Hervey Alright, let’s talk about Think About Me, the groovy little gem from Canadian artist Pat Hervey. Released under All Canadian Talent Records, this album dives deep into the worlds of Funk, Soul, and Pop—genres that just make you want to move, ya know? If you’re into smooth vibes with a sprinkle of heart, this one’s worth your time. Now, I gotta say, the title track “Think About Me” is an absolute earworm. It’s got this funky bassline that sneaks up on you, paired with Pat’s soulful vocals that feel like they’re having a conversation with your brain. The chorus is so catchy it’ll be stuck in your head for days—not in an annoying way, but more like a “wow, I actually wanna hum this while folding laundry” kinda way. It’s the kind of song that makes you think, “Yeah, maybe someone should be thinking about me.” Then there’s “I’ll Count Every Hour,” which flips the mood a bit. This one leans heavier into the pop side, with these lush harmonies and a melody that feels like staring out of a car window on a rainy day. There’s something bittersweet about it—it’s romantic, sure, but also kinda melancholic, like when you miss someone so much it almost hurts. The lyrics are simple but hit hard because, honestly, who hasn’t felt that ache of waiting for someone special? What I love most about this album is how unpretentious it feels. Pat Hervey isn’t trying to reinvent the wheel here; he’s just making music that connects. And honestly, sometimes that’s all we need—a soundtrack for our lives without all the extra fluff. Oh, fun fact: this whole thing comes straight outta Canada, eh? Makes sense though, because Canadians seem to have this knack for crafting tunes that feel both personal and universal. So yeah, if you’re looking for something to vibe to—whether you’re cleaning the house, driving around town, or just vibin’ solo—give Think About Me a spin. It’s not gonna change your life or anything, but it might just brighten your day. Who knows? Maybe you’ll even find yourself thinking about Pat Hervey long after the last note fades. P.S. If Pat ever releases another album, I hope he includes a funky disco track. Just saying.
