Review by Andrew Rigg

Again The Omen by Throe: A Raw, Unfiltered Rock Punch to the Gut Alright, let’s get this straight—Throe’s Again The Omen isn’t here to coddle you. This album grabs you by the throat and doesn’t let go until it’s done spitting its fire. It’s raw, unpolished, and dripping with that gritty US rock energy we’ve been missing. Released under Not On Label (because who needs a corporate leash, right?), this thing feels like it was born in some sweaty basement where the amps are cranked to 11 and no one gives a damn about perfection. The title track, “Again The Omen,” hits hard from the first note. It’s got this chugging guitar riff that just drills into your skull, paired with vocals that sound like they were screamed through clenched teeth. You can feel the desperation in every word—it’s not polished or pretty, but damn if it doesn’t stick with you. There’s something about the way the drums crash in like a runaway train halfway through; it’s chaotic, sure, but that chaos is what makes it unforgettable. If this song doesn’t make you wanna punch a wall or drive too fast down an empty highway, check your pulse. Then there’s another standout—I won’t name it because I want you to discover it yourself—but holy hell, it’s a slow burner that sneaks up on you. Starts off all moody and brooding, almost like it’s daring you to skip it. But then BAM! Outta nowhere comes this solo that sounds like someone lit the guitarist’s fingers on fire. It’s messy, loud, and absolutely unhinged in the best possible way. Tracks like this remind me why rock music still matters—it’s real, it’s alive, and it doesn’t give a crap about trends. So yeah, Again The Omen ain’t for everyone. If you’re looking for overproduced pop-rock candy, keep walking. But if you crave something that feels dangerous, something that leaves dirt under your nails and smoke in your lungs, this is your jam. Honestly, listening to this album feels less like entertainment and more like surviving a bar fight—you walk away bruised but kinda proud of it. And hey, here’s the kicker: Throe didn’t need some big-name label to back them. They did it their way, no apologies. Makes you wonder… maybe the future of rock isn’t dead after all. Or maybe it’s just hiding out in places we forgot to look. Either way, crank this sucker up and let it rip. Your neighbors will hate you, but trust me, it’s worth it.
