Will The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Stand Up: A Raw Dive into Classic Rock Gold Fleetwood Mac’s Will The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Stand Up is one of those albums that sneaks up on you. Released in 1975 under the quirky banners of Singer's Original Double Disk and The Amazing Kornyfone Record Label, this double-disc set feels less like a polished studio effort and more like an unfiltered snapshot of the band at their rawest. It’s not perfect—heck, it doesn’t even try to be—but that’s exactly why it works. The album straddles the line between live energy and stripped-down intimacy, blending tracks from different eras of Fleetwood Mac’s history. With genres rooted firmly in rock and styles leaning heavily toward classic rock, this collection captures the essence of what made them legends before Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham fully cemented the lineup we all know today. Standout Tracks That Stick Two tracks really stand out for me here: “Hypnotized” and “Green Manalishi.” “Hypnotized,” with its dreamy vibe and swirling guitars, feels like floating downstream without a care in the world. There’s something hypnotic about it (pun intended). The way the vocals drift over the instrumentation creates this almost meditative state—it pulls you in without trying too hard. I remember first hearing it late at night, lying on my couch staring at the ceiling, thinking, "Yeah, this is exactly how music should feel sometimes." Effortless yet unforgettable. Then there’s “Green Manalishi.” If “Hypnotized” is a lazy river, this track is a lightning bolt. It’s heavy, brooding, and dripping with Peter Green’s signature blues-rock grit. The guitar work? Absolutely killer. Every time I hear that opening riff, I’m reminded why Fleetwood Mac was—and still is—a force to be reckoned with. It’s the kind of song that makes your hair stand up, even if you’re just listening through tinny laptop speakers. The Rest of the Ride Other gems include “Sentimental Lady,” which showcases Bob Welch’s knack for crafting melodic gold, and “Oh Well,” a gritty rocker that reminds us where the band’s roots lie. Even the playful chaos of “Cliff Davis Blooze” adds character, though it might leave some listeners scratching their heads. This isn’t an album designed for perfectionists; it’s for fans who want to dig deeper into Fleetwood Mac’s eclectic past. And let’s not forget the oddball charm of “Bob’s Rap” tucked between songs—it’s random, sure, but somehow fits the freewheeling spirit of the whole thing. You can tell no one was sweating the small stuff when they put this together. Maybe that’s part of its appeal. Final Thoughts Listening to Will The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Stand Up feels like flipping through an old photo album. Some pictures are blurry, others are faded, but each one tells a story worth remembering. Sure, it’s messy in places, but maybe that’s the point. After all, life—and rock ‘n’ roll—isn’t supposed to be picture-perfect. So, would I recommend this album? Absolutely. Just don’t go in expecting Rumours. Instead, think of it as a backstage pass to the soul of Fleetwood Mac—a little rough around the edges, but bursting with heart. And honestly? That’s kinda beautiful. P.S. If anyone knows why they named it after a game show catchphrase, hit me up. Still scratching my head over that one.

Founded in London in July 1967 (by ex-Bluesbreakers members, Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood), "Peter Green's Fleetwood Mac" instantly became a major force in the UK blues scene, along with their eponymous first album. Following "Mr. Wonderful" & "Then Play On" the driving force of Peter Green had deteriorated as he lapsed into a personal crisis by 1970. The group reorganized, under the leadership of Fleetwood, and slowly took on a new direction - away from the blues and into the mainstream of international popularity, known simply as Fleetwood Mac. Member/Dates: Peter Green (guitar, vocals, 1967-70) Mick Fleetwood (drums, 1967-1995, 1997-present) John McVie (bass, 1967-1995, 1997-present) Jeremy Spencer (guitar, vocals, 1967-71) Bob Brunning (bass, 1967) Danny Kirwan (guitar, 1968-72) Christine McVie (vocals, piano, accordion, 1970-1995, 1997-1998, 2014-2022) Bob Welch (guitar, vocals, 1971-74) Bob Weston (guitar, 1973-74) Dave Walker (guitar, vocals, 1973) Doug Graves (keyboards, 1974) Lindsey Buckingham (guitar, vocals, piano, 1975-87, 1993, 1997-2018) Stevie Nicks (vocals, 19741991, 1993, 1997-present) Billy Burnette (guitar, vocals, 1990-94) Rick Vito (guitar, 1990-91) Dave Mason, (guitar, vocals, 1993-94) Bekka Bramlett (vocals, 1993-94) Mike Campbell (lead guitar, vocals, 2018present) Neil Finn, (vocals, rhythm guitar, 2018present) Inducted into Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 1998 (Performer)

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s something cool: The album *Will The Real Fleetwood Mac Please Stand Up* is like a time capsule of Fleetwood Mac's journey. Released in 1975, it’s not your typical studio album. Instead, it’s packed with live recordings, band intros, and even a rap by Bob Welch called "Bob’s Rap." It’s wild how they blended rock classics like "Green Manalishi" and "Black Magic Woman" with quirky, off-the-cuff moments. You can tell they were having fun experimenting before their mega-famous *Rumours* era took over. Definitely a must-listen for any fan curious about their roots!

The keyboard part at 0:20 sounds suspiciously like the keyboard part of Styx song "Babe, " which came years later. Hmmm.

Its a shame that once Stevie joined the band, Christine sort of faded in the background.  Her voice was like butter.
